Our client are specialists I their market sector, they are now looking for a Manual Machinist to join them on a permanent basis.
The Job you’ll do
The Manual Turner reports directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor and is responsible for the production of components from drawings, utilising various sizes of manual lathes. (If other skills are available such as manual milling, slotting, vertical & horizontal boring and grinding, this would be a bonus, but is not essential for this role).
Working with tolerances up to 0.02mm, the suitable applicant must be fully conversant in both metric and imperial measurements.
The successful candidate will work as part of a small team which sees a great variety of components pass through the Machine Shop, so good team work and machining capability is essential to achieve the best results in a growing business.
Ensure safety and quality procedures are adhered to and assist in the improvement of processes.
Timely production of parts to pre-determined deadlines.
Produce work to the highest quality standard to achieve customer satisfaction.
Work within British Standards as per company procedures.
Support internal teams to get to the root cause of specific issues.
Take part in specialist or multi-disciplinary team activities.
Behave in a professional manner at all times when dealing with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
About You
The successful candidate will be a time served Machinist.
Experience working on Manual Lathes.
Experience of manual milling, slotting, vertical & horizontal boring and grinding would be beneficial but not essential.
Happy to work a 2 shift system.
