Our client is an established and successful company based in Durham. They are currently looking for a Management Accountant to join their team. If you are interested and meet the person specification of the job role, please apply below.

The Job You’ll Do:

  • Ownership for producing month end management financial statements (P&L and BS)

  • Responsible for driving month end stock counts from planning to execution (including one early start each month)

  • Stock valuations for scanned stock (including updating to latest costs)

  • Stock valuations for manually counted stock (including updating to latest costs)

  • Reconciling monthly stock movements

  • Month end balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining schedules to support

  • Month end variance analysis

  • Producing and posting journals (Accruals, Prepayments, Materials, etc)

  • Month end supplier statement reconciliations

  • Responsible for fixed assets register, reconciliation to balance sheet and depreciation journal

  • Producing and posting credit card expenses

  • Cost analysis

  • Month end sales reconciliation

  • Producing and posting weekly payroll journals

  • Producing weekly agency hours worked information and liaising with employment agencies

  • VAT reporting

  • Supporting the finance function by undertaking ad-hoc projects and tasks throughout the month and at month end.

  • Value scrap material and customer credit authorisations

  • Performing own clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, and scanning

  • Answering telephone, barrier entry & greeting visitors, when required

  • Other ad-hoc tasks

About You:

  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality and integrity

  • Minimum fully qualified AAT or CIMA Part Qualified and relevant work experience, especially in an SME an advantage

  • Strong Excel and computer skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc. an advantage)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

  • Good attention to detail

  • Proactive approach to work

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

  • Being able to develop interdepartmental relationships and providing support of a financial nature
