An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established, family-run manufacturing business in the Northeast. This role plays a key part in ensuring production equipment runs efficiently, safely, and reliably, with a focus on electrical maintenance and continuous improvement. You’ll be part of a dynamic engineering team, supporting both day-to-day operations and larger plant projects, including the introduction of new equipment.
The role will be working Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 17:00, and from 07:30 to 15:30 on Fridays.

The Job you will do:
Planned preventative maintenance activities as scheduled.
Effective reactionary engineering response to plant and equipment breakdowns.
Involvement in projects as required, including the introduction of new plant and equipment.
Assisting in site general maintenance, including metalwork fabrication if required.
Liaising with offsite engineers / contractors when planning repairs.
Respond to machinery breakdowns and repair quickly & efficiently.
Keeping all equipment in good safe working order.
Plan and carry out planned preventative maintenance on all plant equipment, aiming to achieve maximum plant availability.
Ensuring consumable spares are kept in stock.
Servicing and maintaining a log of all repairs and service records.
Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment.
Ensuring health & safety regulations are followed.
About you:
Experience of maintenance engineering within FMCG, Manufacturing or Production environment
Great communication
Proven diagnostic experience
Ability to work as part of a dynamic, fast paced environment.
Must hold recognised electrical qualifications - BS 7671 18th edition, City & Guilds or equivalent
Must be flexible, self-motivated, and be able to investigate, troubleshoot, locate and repair faults.
Ability to work with minimum supervision, independently and as part of a team.
