We are delighted to be recruiting for a Machine Operator to join a well-established and progressive manufacturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a reliable, safety-conscious, and motivated individual to become part of a dynamic production team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of machinery within the production department, ensuring all products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality and in line with the production schedule.

Shifts:

·         Week 1 is 2 pm–10 pm, Monday–Thursday; 12:30 pm–5:30 pm on Friday

·         Week 2 is 6 am–2 pm, Monday–Thursday; 6 am–12:30 pm on Friday

·         Week 3 is 10 pm–6 am, Sunday night to Friday morning

The Job You’ll Do:

·         Operate a range of production machinery, including lamination, slitting, waxing, and punching equipment.

·         Load and unload reels using lifting and handling equipment in accordance with safety procedures.

·         Monitor work-in-progress materials, removing affected sections and re-splicing as required.

·         Conduct regular quality checks, ensuring all work meets required standards and specifications.

·         Record production data accurately and ensure traceability throughout the process.

·         Identify and quarantine any non-conforming products, completing appropriate documentation.

·         Perform weekly safety, cleaning, and inspection checks, ensuring high standards of housekeeping.

·         Report any issues or limiting factors to supervisors and record details in production logs.

·         Comply with changeover and line clearance procedures during production transitions.

·         Actively contribute to improvement initiatives in health and safety, quality, waste reduction, and efficiency.

About You:

·         Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment is desirable but not essential.

·         Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

·         Excellent organisational and time management skills.

·         A reliable team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.

·         Strong safety awareness and adherence to workplace standards.

·         Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

·         Good level of IT literacy for recording and reporting production data.

·         Self-motivated, flexible, and positive attitude to work.

·         GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English at grade C / 3 or above.
