Due to an expansion within our clients Engineering Department & increasing demands they now have an opportunity to employ a CNC Machine Shop Manager, working day shift only.
The Job you’ll do
As a CNC Machine shop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the CNC machining department within the premises.
With a team of four at present, to expand to six. You will lead and coordinate the team of CNC machinists to ensure the efficient production of high-quality precision components and parts.
Your role will involve managing the workflow, providing technical expertise, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
This is a hands-on factory-based role.
Manage CNC Machinists: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of CNC machinists, providing guidance and support to ensure the team’s performance, productivity, and quality standards are met.
Hands on approach to assist with any programming of machines, have knowledge of the running of Doosan Sub spindles, sliding head stars and Haas Milling machines.
Production Planning and Scheduling: Planning and scheduling the machining operations, considering production targets, deadlines, and resource availability. Ordering materials tooling as required.
Technical Support: Offer technical expertise and assistance to CNC machinists, helping them interpret technical drawings, select appropriate cutting tools, and optimize machining processes for efficiency and precision.
Machine Setup and Maintenance: Oversee machine setup and maintenance activities, ensuring that CNC machines are properly calibrated, maintained, and operated according to safety and quality standards.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to verify that the finished products meet specifications and customer requirements. Working with QC and CMM operator to inspect and resolve any quality-related issues.
Troubleshooting: Analyse and troubleshoot problems that may arise during machining operations and collaborate with the maintenance team to resolve mechanical or technical issues promptly.
Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct safety training for CNC machinists and promote a culture of safety within the department.
Training and Development: Identify training needs for the CNC machinist team and arrange relevant training programs to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Process Improvement: Continuously monitor the CNC machining processes and identify opportunities for improvement in productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production data, machine maintenance, and any other relevant documentation required for quality assurance and reporting purposes.
Budget Management: Assist in the budgeting process for the CNC machining department, monitoring expenses and making cost-effective decisions.
About You
Proven experience in CNC programming and CAD CAM.
A history of leadership skills.
Previous managerial experience .
Hands on approach.
Strong IT skills , excel etc.
This is a full-time permanent position.
Normal operating hours are 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 14:30 on Friday.
