The Company

Our client is a market leading engineering company; due to growth they are now looking to recruit and Mechanical Design Engineer.

The Role

  • Will play a key role in the engineering function in ensuring that the company has a range of high quality, technically innovative and commercially competitive machines to offer to the market.

  • Primary responsibility will be design, develop and maintain the company’s machines with innovative design, high performance and competitive cost from production and supply chain.

  • In addition, the role requires that the candidate will be responsible for the continuous improvement and re-engineering of existing machines.

  • Scope working as part of the engineering team, where you will be tasked with creating innovative new designs to expand current portfolio.

  • The role will also be involved with maintaining existing machines, with projects focused on optimization and cost savings.

  • Additionally, you will support the other departments with problem solving and technical enquires.

  • The production and maintenance of technical documentations, including CAD drawings, costing data, design calculations, bills of materials, test data etc.

The Person

  • As a Design Engineer, you will be technically strong and will have a relevant BSc or MSc with a mechanical bias.

  • Previous machine design experience would be beneficial.

  • A proven track record of design development success while working to stringent deadlines and budgets.

  • Proficient 3D CAD user with experience of Inventor or Solidworks.
