The Job You’ll Do;
Equipment Maintenance & Repairs: Ensure that all manufacturing equipment is functioning at peak performance. Perform regular planned preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting as needed.
Project Management: Lead or participate in projects aimed at improving manufacturing processes, introducing new equipment, or scaling production capacity, while ensuring safety standards are maintained.
Training & Support: Train production staff on new equipment, processes, and safety protocols.
BRC Standards Implementation: Lead and support efforts to ensure the manufacturing process adheres to BRC Global Food Safety Standards
Health and Safety Management: Ensure the adherence to all workplace health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
Risk Assessments: Conduct regular health and safety risk assessments on all production processes and equipment. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to minimize risk.
Safety Audits and Inspections: Perform routine safety audits and inspections on the manufacturing floor to ensure compliance with safety protocols. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend preventive actions.
About You;
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment in food production.
Knowledge of quality control, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Knowledge of BRC standards and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to implement and enforce safety protocols.
Experience in conducting risk assessments and safety audits.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Education: HNC/HND in an Engineering Discipline or NVQ Level 3
Experience: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in food production or a related industry.
