MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious engineering client in their 2026 recruitment initiative with the recruitment of a permanent Document Controller to join their team. If you have experience in a similar technically focused role, apply now for an immediate response!
The job you’ll do:
Produce, format, and maintain high-quality engineering documentation using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
Control, distribute, track, and archive project documentation, ensuring accuracy, control, and timely circulation.
Coordinate document workflows with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
Ensure all documentation complies with company standards, QA procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain document registers, numbering systems, and labelling conventions for clear identification and traceability.
Scan, copy, file, and distribute documents to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Assist with the preparation and submission of reports, schedules, and project close-out documentation.
Follow engineers’ instructions to create, update, and revise drawings using AutoCAD
Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Attend site as required for scanning, filing, and document control activities (may include occasional overnight stays).
About you:
Must be IT literate and proficient with Microsoft Office software
Willingness to travel (quarterly) and stay overnight if needed
Proven experience in a similar role (Document Controller/Administration/Technical Support)
Experience using AutoCAD or similar to update engineering drawings (desirable)
Experience using document management systems such as Meridian and/or Aconex or similar (desirable).
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and a structured approach to document control.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to liaise across teams.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence required.
