MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious engineering client in their 2026 recruitment initiative with the recruitment of a permanent Document Controller to join their team. If you have experience in a similar technically focused role, apply now for an immediate response!

The job you’ll do:

  • Produce, format, and maintain high-quality engineering documentation using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)

  • Control, distribute, track, and archive project documentation, ensuring accuracy, control, and timely circulation.

  • Coordinate document workflows with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.

  • Ensure all documentation complies with company standards, QA procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain document registers, numbering systems, and labelling conventions for clear identification and traceability.

  • Scan, copy, file, and distribute documents to internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of reports, schedules, and project close-out documentation.

  • Follow engineers’ instructions to create, update, and revise drawings using AutoCAD

  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Attend site as required for scanning, filing, and document control activities (may include occasional overnight stays).

About you:

  • Must be IT literate and proficient with Microsoft Office software

  • Willingness to travel (quarterly) and stay overnight if needed

  • Proven experience in a similar role (Document Controller/Administration/Technical Support)  

  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar to update engineering drawings (desirable)

  • Experience using document management systems such as Meridian and/or Aconex or similar (desirable).

  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and a structured approach to document control.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to liaise across teams.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Full UK driving licence required.
