The Job You’ll Do;
The Trainee Internal Sales Engineer will work alongside the Internal Sales Team to learn and develop your skills to then provide sales support to sales staff/agents to include: product information, marketing tools, quotations, application engineering and product development.
They will provide professional, competitive tender return to clients by client return date where achievable.
Full structured training will be provided.
Provides information on product applications, technical assistance, pricing strategies and competitive information to external sales.
Prepares competitive and compliant quotations using available software to meet client specifications or propose a suitable alternative where required
Analyse and propose changes in equipment or use of materials which could result in cost reduction or more efficient operation. (Improve hit rate and profit margins)
Evaluates and implements product discount strategy on a project-by-project basis to meet sales and profit margin goals.
Support allocated external salespeople
Monitors and maintains log of enquiries and quotes issued
Follows up quotes issued for feedback from external sales and clients
Uses company CRM systems in line with best practise and company policy
Provide Internal Sales Supervisor a weekly report on workload
Prepares and distributes literature, pricing information, technical data and promotional material to sales offices.
Maintains a teamwork philosophy with other department facilitate problem solving and provide good customer service.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
About You;
Minimum of A-Level Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or similar (Mathematics, Physics etc.)
Industry experience in a Technical Sales or Estimators role would be desirable, but not required.
An understanding of Mechanical principles would be an advantage
An eagerness to learn on the job
Self-motivated and committed
Customer Focused with good problem-solving skills
IT literate.
