MTrec’s New Client Opportunity

Our client is an established, highly prestigious, and successful blue-chip manufacturing company based in the Cramlington area. They are now looking for an experienced Senior Stores Technician to join their team full time permanent basis. They are looking for someone with the skills, experience and background to help them introduce improvements to their stores/warehouse area, as well as carry out the day-to-day duties of stock movement, stock accuracy, supporting manufacturing etc. If you are able to suggest and implement improvements, this would be their ideal candidate. It maybe location improvements, a new kanban system, stock accuracy system, an inspection process etc. They need someone who can support their business and their supply chain manager, with previous experiences and successes.

The role you will be doing

  • Supporting the supply chain team in delivering an uninterrupted supply to the production team, through effective management of stock

  • Supporting the team with various improvement projects

  • Inspecting materials to ensure the meet the specification and delivering to the correct departments

  • Working with purchasing on any quality issues that arise

  • Receiving goods and storing in the correct dedicated locations, making certain every location is fit for purpose

  • Stock rotation using first in, first out process

  • Ensuring stocks are kept at the correct levels and raising requisitions for replenishment if not on minimum/maximum control

  • Completing monthly stock takes

  • Keeping stock to the correct levels on the shop floor

  • Kitting or materials to the correct departments on a daily basis

  • Working continually to improve stores and stock control processes

  • Any other reasonable tasks requested by line management

About you

  • Previous manufacturing and warehousing experience are essential.

  • You will have the skills and abilities to suggest and implement improvement ideas and projects to their stores area.

  • Previous stock control and materials experience is essential.

  • Experience as a stores person within manufacturing is essential.

  • FLT qualification and ideally FLT counterbalance licence.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Excellent Excel skills

  • Process driven and structured

  • Have the ability to structure own time effectively to meet the demands of the role

  • Lean practitioner with a passion for continuous improvement and waste reduction

  • Good commercial and financial acumen
