Our client are specialists in their market sector, they are looking for a Quality Inspector to join their team on a permanent basis.
The Job You’ll do
Reporting to the relevant Quality Engineer, the Quality Inspectors will be part of the machining quality control team supporting clients internal operations department from a quality control aspect.
The successful candidates will ensure exacting quality standards are met to drive world class engineering and maintain customer satisfaction of both our products and end users.
Carrying out formal evaluation and inspection checks of machined product in accordance with defined manufacturing procedures, SOPs, drawings and quality standards, using a wide range of inspection equipment (e.g. gauges, verniers, micrometers, shadowgraphs, surface finish measuring equipment).
Ensuring measurements and checks are correctly recorded on the relevant platform (written report, excel data entry, IFS data entry, etc.)
Supporting the determination of acceptable and unacceptable product using analytical and decision making techniques.
Support in the segregation of non-conforming product.
Identifying and reacting accordingly to quality problems with speed and precision.
Raise any quality issues with the appropriate personnel; including agreement on the feasibility to rework, whilst supporting in identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Liaising with internal departments to ensure high quality products are produced.
Supporting investigations carried out by quality engineers.
Interpreting engineering drawings.
Supporting the training of apprentices and trainees.
To carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected.

Demonstrates a positive approach to HS&E through good working practices, housekeeping and correct use of PPE.
Adheres to risk assessments, policies and procedures.
Participates positively in HS&E training.
Only undertakes health and safety tasks for which they have been suitably trained.
Takes responsibility for appropriate checks of own work environment, machines or equipment.
Takes accountability for own health and safety and for those around them.
Keeps self-updated with health and safety communication initiatives from the company and applies learnings.
When interacting with visitors and contractors takes responsibility for their health and safety on site.
About You
Our client are ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, 45001:2018 & 50001:2018 accredited and having experience of working to these standards, as well as Lean Six Sigma principles, would be an advantage to any candidate.
It is essential that candidates have an understanding and application of metrology processes, as well as be able to manage their work to ensure timely validation and assessment of components produced in a high paced manufacturing department.
The ability to accurately measure, assess and record dimensions/values is a necessity, and the candidates are expected to be able to read and understand engineering drawings and terminologies.
Successful candidates will also be IT literate, with experience of spreadsheet data entry.
Experience of using an ERP system would also be an advantage.
The role will often be independent of the wider quality team so it is also important that candidates are self-motivated.
