MTrec Recruitment have proudly partnered with a state of the art, blue chip manufacturer based in the Hartlepool area. The business is a powerhouse within their respective industry, and boast ongoing investment, development and growth. They are recruiting a highly skilled and experienced maintenance engineer to join the engineering division, and support in reactive and preventive maintenance work.

The role will be working the following shift pattern:

  • 06:00–14:00 Monday–Thursday and 06:00–11:30 Fridays

  • 14:00–22:00 Monday–Thursday and 11:30–17:00 Fridays

  • 22:00–06:00 Monday–Thursday and 17:00–22:30 Fridays.

  • You will also be required to work rotational weekends, between 06:00 and 14:00

The Job you will do:

  • Serve as the duty engineer during the shift, ensuring reliable equipment performance.

  • Respond promptly to equipment failures and carry out scheduled preventative maintenance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues quickly and effectively.

  • Record maintenance actions and parts usage accurately in the asset-management system.

  • Assist with new equipment installations and oversee external contractors when required.

  • Contribute to the site’s emergency response team and participate in the call-out rota.

  • Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

  • Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues at all times.

About you:

  • ONC (or equivalent) in Engineering.

  • At least five years of experience in production or industrial maintenance.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with effective diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.

  • Hands-on experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Familiarity with steam and compressed-air systems is an advantage.

  • Competent computer skills, including basic use of Microsoft Office.

  • Clear communicator with strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to work independently.
