This rare opportunity has arisen with our outstanding Sunderland based client. They are now looking for a motivated Indirect Buyer to help their business grow and improve. This is an outstanding permanent opportunity for the ideal candidate to support the business needs.

 

The job you’ll do

  • Contains jobs which are concerned with planning, processing and administrating all purchasing activities in order to provide organisation with needed material, parts, semi-products and services

  • Plans and executes buying activities in assigned unit(s), for dedicated materials, services or investments.

  • Keeps procedural alignment with the general procurement guidelines and defined general

  • contract agreements.

  • Executes observation of relevant supplier markets and the respective accredited suppliers.

  • Develops and maintains supplier contacts.

  • Negotiates general and/or case-related procurement contracts, incl. specifications, volumes, pricing, terms and conditions.

  • May order assigned commodities, semi-products and/or services.

  • Monitors, that quality, quantity and other agreed contract conditions for the goods provided will be met.

  • Interacts with supplier to settle any questionable deliveries, in cooperation with other departments.

  • Proposes measures and action plans to ensure supplier quality, if needed.

  • May include the leadership of a group of Order Management or Procurement Support functions.

 

About you

  • Experience of working as an Indirect Buyer role in an industrial product manufacturing and supply environment.

  • Ability to establish strong working relationships and engagement with internal \ external teams and customers.

  • Ability to work under pressure, within tight deadlines, with flexible approach to working hours and a motivated team player.

  • Process driven, detailed and solutions orientated, with experience of working in a formal, continuous improvement culture.

  • Strong effective decision making, organisational and time management skills.

  • Excellent logical reasoning, root cause analysis, deductive problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Good communication & IT skills.

  • Full and current UK driving license.
