Working Hours:
39 hours per week
0700 - 1600 Mon-Thurs, 0700 - 1200 Fri
The Job You’ll Do;
Continuously manage and maintain the product design software.
Understand the Mechanical components of products including coil slides and their relevant pricing.
Working closely with the Product Manager to set priorities, cadence of tasks and updates, and overall approach to the software maintenance.
Documenting bug reports, requests for change, updates, third party DLL versions and any alterations to product software, in order to keep a well-documented archive of these items.
Maintain the software database (technical, pricing and manufacturing data) up to date and implement changes when required.
Manage software and database backups to ensure resilience and swift backtracking of issues.
Liaise with design software developers in the reporting of bugs, implementation of features and/or bug fixes.
Liaise with suppliers of third-party DLL’s and component selection software’s to ensure their correct and bug free implementation.
Perform testing and debugging for updates provided by the software developers, third party DLL providers or in-house.
Issue regular updates to implement fixes and/or new features and closely track user software versions to ensure updates are installed and working as intended.
Issue software instructions and keep the design software manual up to date and relevant for all users.
Working closely with the Product Manager and other relevant departments to set priorities, deadlines and a development plan for the software.
Documenting development requirements.
Elaborating specifications for the software developers.
Perform testing and debugging for new features provided by the software developers or third-party DLL providers.
keep close track of development costs and strive to minimize expenditure where possible.
liaise with the IT department on the implementation of new software versions.
Ensure standalone third-party software’s are kept up to date for all users and tested simultaneously with their design software DLL implementation.
About You;
Degree qualified in Mechanical Design or equivalent
High proficiency in the MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel and MS Word, is required
Experience with the design and manufacture process within Engineering/Manufacturing is preferred
Experience with the management and development of design software is preferred
Programming experience is preferred
