The Company you will be working for;

MTrec Commercial are proudly representing our prestigious client on their search for an experienced Transport Planner to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. If you feel you have the required skills and experience, then please apply for an immediate response!

The Role you will be doing;

  • Scheduling trucks and drivers to fulfil the requirements of all operating departments

  • Being proactive in seeking backloads to ensure empty return journeys are at an absolute minimum

  • Developing operational improvements, focusing on cost reductions and customer satisfaction

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and internal customers

  • Liaising with Department Managers and Co-ordinators

  • Knowledge of operating costs to enable accurate pricing to our customers

  • Ensuring compliance with Company CPC terms

  • Recognising opportunities for service level improvement and implementing.

  • Ensuring the fleet is operating within transport budgets.

  • Where subcontractors are used, ensuring that only LV approved suppliers are utilised.

  • Being fully conversant with the company IT/computer system

  • Always ensuring the safe Load distribution on vehicles

  • At all times ensure compliance to LV HSSQE systems and procedures

About You;

  • Positive, enthusiastic, dedicated and able to fit into a busy and productive team.

  • Experienced in transport Management of company owned equipment and subcontractor / owner drivers.

  • Experience in all truck / trailer types

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 - Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and internal systems.

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to work in a pressurised environment.

  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities with strong decision making

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Be articulate and have meticulous attention to detail.

  • Possess a strong team working ethic, with influencing and negotiating skills.

  • Have the tenacity to succeed and the ability to grow in the role.
