MTrec recruitment are proudly representing our industry-leading client in their recruitment for a skilled mechanical fitter. This is a day shift position, and experience within heavy industry is essential.
The Job you will do:
Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations.
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
Replace and fit components, including bearings, pumps, motors, conveyors, and gearboxes.
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Complete maintenance records and reports accurately.
Support machinery upgrades and improvement projects.
Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to minimise downtime.
About you:
NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, apprenticeship, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in mechanical fitting or maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read engineering drawings.
Knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics.
Good understanding of health & safety practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
