MTrec Recruitment are supporting our long-standing and prestigious client in their search for a contract IT Technician. The role will be supporting a global rollout of hardware and software and would be well suited to those with previous experience in end user computing/ 2nd Line IT support.
This is a 3-month contract, with potential for extension, depending on the status of the project.

The Job you will do:
Installation, configuration, and deployment of PCs and laptops for end users (hardware setup, OS imaging, software installation)
Configuration of user profiles, network drives, email clients, and access to corporate resources
Active Directory administration: creating and managing user accounts, password resets, account unlocking, and group/permission assignments
Providing 1st line IT support during system integration and migration processes
Logging, tracking, and resolving support tickets via the corporate ITSM platform; escalating complex issues to 2nd/3rd line teams
Troubleshooting Virtual Machine (VM) access and virtualised application issues for end users
Basic network diagnostics and escalation of infrastructure-related incidents to the relevant teams
Maintaining IT asset inventory and ensuring accurate documentation of all hardware deployments
Ensuring compliance with corporate IT security policies and governance standards
About you:
Previous experience in a 2nd line IT Support role is essential.
Hardware and software rollout experience is essential
You will be a natural communicator and able to work with a variety of stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail is a must
You must be local to work at the company site in Northumberland
Full right to work in the UK is essential.
