Job description

The Company

Our client is a market leading manufacturer. To maintain their high standards, they are looking to recruit a day shift Engineering Maintenance Planner.

The Role

  • Responsible for developing, coordinating and scheduling preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance plans to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment and facilities.

  • The role is key in improving maintenance efficiency, reducing downtime and supporting long-term asset management strategies.

  • Develop, maintain and optimise preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and strategies to maximise equipment reliability.

  • Create, prioritise, and manage work orders in the Computerised Maintenance Management System.

  • Co-ordinate with engineering teams to monitor work order progress and report on task progress to completion.

  • Ensure all necessary tools, materials, and specialised contractors are organised and available for tasks.

  • Analyse maintenance history and equipment performance data to identify trends and improve reliability.

  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to schedule downtime and planned maintenance interventions.

  • Work with engineering stores and purchasing to manage spare parts inventory, ensuring critical parts are in stock.

  • Support Engineering Team Leaders in auditing and validating maintenance processes and CMMS data integrity.

  • Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.

The Person

  • Previous experience in a similar role.

  • Previous experience in maintenance planning or scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Proficiency with CMMS software.

  • Strong understanding of maintenance strategies: preventive, predictive, reliability centered maintenance.

  • Appreciation of mechanical and electrical systems, industrial equipment, and facility operations.

  • Strong analytical, organisational and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Competent using Microsoft Package applications-Excel, Word, etc.

  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Knowledge of various process improvement techniques.

  • You will ideally be time served in a relevant engineering discipline.

  • Excellent communicator both in written and verbal forms.

  • Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload and team.

  • Excellent attention to detail.
