Our client is a market leader in the Engineering sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Estimator.

Job Specification

The Role

  • The costing / pricing of work.
  • Purchasing of parts needed.
  • Planning and creating work plan for the jobs.
  • Checking data accuracy.
  • Provide formal written quotations.
  • Preparation of manufacturing times, cost estimates and maintenance of company price lists.
  • Communication with internal customers
  • Monitoring of actual project performance against estimate
  • To produce customer quotations where necessary to support sales.
  • Visiting of Customer / Suppliers as and when required.

The Person

  • A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (ideally HNC or above) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A sound background in mechanical engineering and manufacturing techniques.
  • Hydraulic / Pneumatic knowledge is essential.
  • Computer literacy including business systems and Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • High standard of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as being a good team player.
