Our client is a market leader within the Process Sector. New investment has led to their current requirement for a R and D Chemist.

Job Specification

The Role

  • To plan and undertake research and laboratory work towards the introduction of new products and processes.
  • To prepare technology transfer packs to allow establishment of new products / process within Operations.
  • To provide technical support to Operations and QC/QA functions as required.   
  • To research new processes, materials & techniques through literature searches and laboratory work that can be used in the production of new products.
  • To scale up reactions to maximum laboratory scale, develop Technology Transfer packs and in conjunction with QC department develop analytical methods for in process QC and final product assay.
  • To prepare reports on R&D activities within laboratory.

The Person

  • BSc Chemistry as minimum with higher degree is preferred.
  • Experience in a Laboratory based R&D role.
  • Familiarity of transfer of R&D processes to Manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Good laboratory practice and a robust knowledge of modern organic chemistry.
  • Proven ability to build good working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Good communicator who is self-motivated, dedicated and well organized.
  • Someone who strives for continuous improvement.
  • Happy to work a 12-18-month contract with a potential to become permanent.
