Job Specification
The Role
- This role will be responsible for processing and reconciling payroll transaction for 4-weekly & monthly (salary) paid employees as well as the calculation and submission of monthly PAYE/NI contributions.
- Producing analysis reports of statistical data from the payroll and time & attendance systems.
- Maintenance of personnel records – holidays, sickness, maternity & etc and the pension contributions system.
- Processing of expenses claim payments.
- The management of the time & attendance system including flexi time reports and weekly fire lists.
- Reconciling Balance Sheets for PAYE, NI and Pension.
- Submission of temporary employee hours to external agency and processing subsequent monthly invoices for payment.
- Submission of Pension contributions via online portal.
- The process and administration of payroll related paperwork e.g., mortgage application, Inland Revenue requests, etc.
- Annual P60 and P11D returns.
- Support HR Officer in provision of various monthly/annual reports, issuing employee communications (including maintenance of Notice Boards), arranging Absence Review Meetings, New Starter Inductions, References and Occupational Health Appointments etc.
The Person
- A good standard of education and advanced knowledge of Excel.
- A background in manufacturing is preferred but not essential (and ideally managing two payrolls).
- Working knowledge of various payroll systems specifically SAGE 50.
- In-depth knowledge of SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP – plus payment/management of.
- Working knowledge of shift patterns, overtime payments and union subscriptions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, a team player.
- Must be well organised with an eye for detail.
- An ability to prioritise and work under minimal supervision with a proactive approach.
