Company Description
This rare opportunity has arisen with our outstanding Tyne and Wear based client. They are now looking for a motivated Die Maintenance/Toolmaker to help their business grow and improve. This is an outstanding permanent opportunity for the ideal candidate to support the toolmaking and engineering department.
Job Specification
The Role
- Experience working in an automotive background, ideally in a tool room and/or press shop experience of press tool repair and maintenance
- Previous experience of a tool room/press shop environment
- Knowledge of single and double action draw tools
- Must be time served in press toolmaking/die maintenance
- Preferably will have worked in a heavy engineering/factory environment
- Day to day management of your own time and tasks
- Update and maintain internal record systems
- Development and improvement activities in both people and areas
- Have a good understanding of planned and preventative maintenance activities
- Familiar with the health & safety risks associated with our environment
- Able to work on his/her own initiative given the list of tasks to be achieved
The Person
- Must have a City & Guilds in Engineering principles or equivalent (preferably through apprenticeship)
- Must be able to weld using TIG and MMA
- Must be able to use manual metal working machines, lathes, milling, grinding and drilling
- Basic computer skills to enable you to log your time
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills including people management & motivational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Flexible and adaptable to varying and changing situations
- Able to react to and stabilise a crisis situation
