Job Specification

The Role

• Polishing finished components to a range of standards including standard eighty-grit belt finish to sateen, super sateen and mirror.
• Use polishing equipment to polish radius of components.
• Use inspection equipment such as Vernier’s, micrometers, PI tapes and CMM or Faro
• Inspection of goods in, goods out, subcontract work and all purchased parts.
• Magnetic Particle Inspection.
• In process and finished goods inspection.
• Process auditing.
• Calibration of measuring equipment.
• Signing first and last inspection reports.
• Reporting of non-conforming parts.

The Person

• Previous polishing and inspection experience essential.
• Use of air powered polishing tools to polish mainly stainless steel and aluminium to a mirror finish standard.
• Use of measuring equipment such as Vernier’s, micrometers, thickness and echo meters.
• Exposure to polishing copper and other exotic metals.
