Job Specification
The Role
- Provide total engineering support across all aspects of the Site.
- Support key stakeholders with Engineering support to complete KPI’s.
- Provision of service to all internal & external customers.
- Attend to all planned & unplanned work across a multi-disciplined arena – electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatic, process & PLC (Allen Bradley).
- Ensure that all Manufacturing Plant is maintained in line with targeted KPI’s and best practise methodologies.
- Record & Report findings from investigations.
- Provide flexibility for cover through holidays/training/absence.
- Maintain & service all plant & equipment to agreed schedules.
- Apply Lean Methodologies and Contiguous Improvement principles to daily work activities.
- Responsible for Product Safety & Product Quality as defined by regulatory, and local procedures.
- Communicate issues in a timely manner through escalation of chain of command.
- Environment, Health & Safety.
- Adhere to all PPE requirements.
- Support Safety Initiatives.
- Follow all Health and Safety procedures, process and regulations.
- Report any Health and Safety issues to Shift Manager.
- Ensure correct waste streams are adhered to.
- Be involved in Continuous Improvement activities as they arise.
- Be aware of opportunities to reduce costs and escalate to Shift Manager.
- Participate in overtime as required.
- Comply with all time and attendance targets.
- Maintain high standards of individual housekeeping and 5s.
- Assist/participate in Induction programmes for new starters.
- Take part in annual appraisal.
The Person
- An experienced Multi Skilled Technician with experience within Manufacturing to add value to the Team in Line with Site KPI’s.
- 3-5 years working as in a similar role within a Manufacturing background essential.
- Experience in continuous improvement, problem solving and change management.
- HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechanical/Process Engineering discipline or
- A recognised apprenticeship in Engineering or possesses City & Guilds /NVQ qualification with relevant experience and EITB Multi Skilled.
- Broad Engineering experience preferred.
- Experience in continuous improvement, problem solving and change management in a manufacturing environment.
- Good English skills both orally and written.
- Good level of MS office and IT competence.
- Organised and structured way of working.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good work ethic and drive to complete work.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Right first-time outlook.
- Have a “Low Cost, High Productivity” mindset.
- Ability and willingness to travel and full valid driving licence.
- Driving licence and confidence to travel is desirable.
