Job Specification

The Role

• Develop new product ideas and concepts to specific briefs
• Design and develop new products using Autodesk Inventor
• Manage CAD data using Autodesk Vault
• Produce product renders and imagery using Keyshot
• Maintain component revision control
• Maintain assembly revision control
• Compile and update bills of materials as and when required
• Carry out technical analysis of new and existing product designs
• Assist in the testing of new products
• Analyse existing products and introduce efficiencies where possible
• Create internal product assembly instructions
• Create external technical product information (including data sheets and user instructions)
• Internal training on new products
• Oversee prototype production
• Ensure product compliance with relevant standards
• Manage cost reduction initiatives

The Person

• The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, technically minded with the ability to think strategically and a natural problem solver with excellent attention to detail.
• Ideally, you will be degree qualified in Engineering or Industrial Product Design with experience working within a similar role.
• A strong knowledge of common manufacturing processes, including machining, turning and fabrication is a must.
• Knowledge and experience using specific software, including:
• Autodesk Inventor
• Autodesk Vault
• AutoCAD
• Keyshot
• Adobe CC would be an advantage
