MTrec are proudly representing one of the North East leading manufacturers. As they continue to grow our business, we are looking to recruit a qualified Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician (mechanical and electronics) in their busy machine shop. You will be responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance of our equipment; this permanent full-time position is to ensure that all manufacturing equipment is fully operational at all times.

Job Specification

The Role

  • Responsible for the routine preventative maintenance of all of our Fanuc based equipment.
  • Responsible for reacting to and dealing with breakdowns in machinery on both the machining and assembly sides of the business
  • Plans and executes assigned modification, repair and/or maintenance projects with a high degree of complexity with respect to costs, quality, safety and environmental aspects
  • Analyses technical problems on site
  • Executes start of operation of production service and systems
  • Executes mechanical and/or electrical repairs and works orders
  • Maintains proper documentation
  • Contributes to installation projects on site
  • Supports maintenance of technical documentation of processes and equipment
  • Dismantles, repairs, assembles and installs mechanical/electrical components on sit
  • Performs tests and verifies correct functioning
  • Sets up and commissions machines and devices
  • Supports accountable engineers and other technicians in their tasks, both in maintenance and production
  • Checks completeness of documents and components for the proper execution of mechanical and electrical tasks
  • Prepares mechanical and electrical tools and equipment for use

The Person

  • Must have a relevant qualification in a maintenance and/or engineering discipline
  • Must have had industry experience working within an automotive engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • A working knowledge of, or hands-on experience with, automotive production processes
  • Must be computer literate with a very good knowledge in the use of MS-Office packages
  • Must have very good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must have a full UK drivers licence (may be required to go and get spare parts)
