Company Description

We are proudly representing our engineering client with their search for a new Hydraulic Engineer. They are looking for the right candidate to manage their projects and technicians on a permanent basis. 

Job Specification

The Role

  • Managing and taking lead in jobs up to completions including hydraulic power units, control consoles, bespoke hydraulic systems and manifolds
  • Supervising of technicians to ensure targets and quality standards are met
  • Providing technical information to both customers and technicians on site and within workshop
  • Maintaining communication and documentation control between the customer, suppliers, sub-contractors, on-site/workshop hydraulic technicians, with project owners support
  • Preparing all the technical documents, work instructions and RAMS, technical specifications, tracking material shortages, compiling document packs (paper and electronic) and assisting with material and equipment preparation
  • Carry out commissioning, fault finding, mechanical assembly, hoses manufacture, rigid piping, flushing and pressure testing.
  • Make quotations
  • Provide technical guidance to the customer
  • Prepare hydraulic schematics & bill of material
  • Prepare engineering drawings or give clear design instructions to the draughtsman
  • Work out calculations
  • Select and size components
  • Optimise system performance and co
  • Resolve problems and improve manufacturability and serviceability of productProcurements following projects technical, financial and time requirement

The Person

  • Qualified and experienced Hydraulic Engineers with a minimum of 2 years’ experience of project management and hydraulics
  • Experience of managing jobs and workload up to completion including management of staff, finances, quality and targets
  • Ability to liaise with customers and clients providing technical information
  • Experience of maintaining communication and documentation control between the customer, suppliers, sub-contractors, on-site/workshop hydraulic technicians, with project owners support
  • Ability to prepare technical documents, work instructions and RAMS, technical specifications, tracking material shortages and compiling document packs
  • Must be able to commission and fault find on mechanical and hydraulic equipment and components
  • Ability to prepare schematics, drawing, bill of materials, calculations and clear design instructions
  • Must hold Full UK Driving Licence
