Our prestigious high-volume manufacturing client is now looking to recruit an experienced and talented Senior Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis. You will be joining a fast-moving dynamic organisation with impressive plans for growth and investment. You will be working in a technology rich manufacturing environment, with a range of PLC controlled systems and equipment. Job Specification

The Role

  • Manage the day to day workload for their maintenance team to ensure an effective and efficient service is delivered and departmental targets are achieved, including the planning and resourcing of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and maintenance shutdown.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the team of skilled Technicians.
  • Provide leadership and line management to the team, coordinating and overseeing their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers, monitoring any issues, and ensuring targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and quality standards are met.
  • Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, whilst promoting a culture of working safely. 
  • Robot and PLC programming.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
  • Perform effective diagnosis of breakdowns and timely repair of equipment to maximise availability.
  • Perform scheduled planned and preventive maintenance to minimise planned downtime.
  • Analysis of issues to root cause and development of countermeasures , improvement actions/ suggestions.
  • Control and source maintenance tools, equipment and spares.
  • Document breakdowns, identifying root cause and action to help identify and reduce reoccurring issues.
  • Understand and maintain high standards of 5S.
  • Apply specific technical skills as required to support issues and minimise downtime.
  • Manage contractors on site.
  • Undertake continuous training and development. 
  • Ensure KPI's are met.  
  • Work with team and other departments to produce effective maintenance strategies, procedures and methods.
  • Liaise with production and quality to ensure highest quality is achieved.               
  • Effectively lead a team of maintenance technicians, working with supervisor and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow.  
  • Provide technical expertise.
  • Control and organise the teams daily work schedule.
  • Oversee the team’s performance, attendance, disciplinary issues.
  • Identify areas of improvement in the team.
  • Monitor completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record appropriate systems. 

The Person

  • Completed a recognised multi-skilled apprenticeship.
  • HNC Qualified.
  • Must have a strong Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Systems background and experience of working in Facilities Management.
  • Knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing techniques and recognised QC tools.
  • Experience in a High-volume Manufacturing environment.
  • PLC and Robot Programming Skills.
  •  Previous team leading experience.
