MTrec Recruitment is working in partnership with a highly prestigious manufacturing company in their search to appoint a Graduate Technology/Lean Engineer.  

They are looking for a graduate engineer with a genuine passion for technology, machinery and the future development and integration of robotics and automation into the work-place. You must possess a drive and determination to make a difference to a company, with a modern and forward-thinking approach to engineering solutions, and also how in the future the integration of the internet will impact technology. You will be using your skills and experience with technology to make the lean improvements in the business. 

Job Specification

The Role

  • Key aspects to the role include using technology, automation and improvements to make real lean improvements and cost savings to the shop floor.
  • You will work closely to manufacturing teams to help solve their issues and problems, harnessing their ideas to make a difference.
  • Deliver on a range of projects within manufacturing.
  • If you have lean training this will be a bonus, however the company will provide the training, tools and techniques on lean, and support you in becoming formally qualified.
  • The key skills required are machine programming/coding skills, data analysis, automation development, systems improvement etc. The role will be using the technological developments to implement lean improvements removing waste from the process and making cost savings.
  • Remove waste from the process and to automate it. Enable a PC to talk to machines and provide the business with real time accurate data the senior managers can use on a real-time basis.

  • A Degree qualified Engineer.
  • Able to bring a modern perspective to the role.
  • Experience of PLC programming.
  • Understands the usage and importance of data.
  • Comfortable communicating with and integrating into an experienced production environment.
  • Have a genuine passion for technology, robots, automation, this is probably your hobby and interest as well as your career focus.
  • Possesses an understanding of the internet and its future applications.
  • You must be able to engage with the shop-floor, learn from production, make suggestions and work effectively with a range of staff.
  • IT: proficient knowledge and application of MS Office, especially Excel, ERP, data management systems, statistical software (Mini Tab), data analysis tools and document management systems
  • Experience of working in high volume manufacturing would be advantageous.
