MTrec are proudly representing one of the North East leading manufacturers.

Due to the continued growth of our business, we are looking to recruit an experienced Production Manager to lead and develop a production team to achieve defined quality standards, performance, output levels and safety standards.  This role will have full responsibility on shift for their manufacturing area.

Job Specification

The Role

  • Ensuring any accidents, incidents near misses are reported & investigated
  • Ensuring 5S activities are completed & high standard of housekeeping maintained
  • People Management and Development:
  • Identify training & development needs for production team and provide appropriate level of motivatioLead & support with recruitment, absence management, management of the Time and Attendance system, disciplinary & grievance issues
  • Ensure communications are effective & a good level of employee engagement
  • Brief Operators regularly
  • Set targets, implement plans, monitor & report all aspects of production performance (e.g. OEE, Scrap & accidents etc.)
  • Ensure conformance to company standards through the management & maintenance of SOP’S and special work instructions
  • Lead & participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive teamwork, lead problem solving groups & motivate team members
  • Responsible for monitoring & reporting quality concerns
  • Completing appropriate documentation & communicating in PCC
  • Ensure all SOP’s link to the Control Plan & ensure it is adhered to. Conduct audits at agreed frequency to verify adherence.
  • Lead & participate as required on QRCM issues.
  • Undertake any other duties of which the responsibility, experience and skills required fall within the post holder’s expected capability and commensurate with the post holder’s position in the company

The Person

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Experience from the automotive industry
  • Understanding of application of continuous improvement working practices.
  • Work mainly unsupervised and manage own time.
  • Conduct research, investigation and analysis (e.g., productivity improvement, yield improvement, scrap reduction and waste elimination)
  • Proven ability to carry out full supervisory duties
  • Must have the ability to coach others and foster a teamwork culture
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Use initiative and judgement to make decisions and solve problems that are sometimes complex
