A leading North East based Engineering Company are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team in a permanent role. Our client is committed to providing pioneering engineering services to their customers; this is an exciting opportunity and a well-rewarded role for the ideal candidate.

Job Specification

The Role

  • Perform and carry out the appropriate formal evaluation and inspection checks of machined product in accordance with the manufacturing procedures and quality standards.
  • Identifying and reacting accordingly to quality problems.
  • Supporting the determination of acceptable and unacceptable internal and external quality standards.
  • Liaising with departments to ensure good quality products are produced
  • Segregate non-conforming product.
  • Supporting investigations carried out by quality engineers.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings.
  • The individual will carry out welding and moulded part inspections.
  • The successful candidate will assess product quality against standards and make decisions on the level of acceptability and have an appreciation of quality standards, processes and systems.
  • The ideal candidate will use our ERP system and MS office.
  • The candidate should also have an enthusiasm for the job and the role of quality in the company.
  • Ensure that all measurements and checks are correctly recorded.
  • Where an item is found to be outside of tolerance, to raise the issue with the appropriate personnel and agree feasibility to rework and identify and implement corrective actions
  • Support training of apprentices and trainees.
  • Appreciation of quality improvement techniques and initiatives.

The Person

  • Have a flexible approach to work activities including working various machines within capability and working shifts as required to meet production needs.
  • Have relevant engineering inspection experience.

  • Ensure that you work in a safe manner and comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
  • Promote a safe working environment by directly challenging or reporting unsafe practices and hazardous working conditions and by making suggestions where improvements can or should be made.
