Our client is a successful manufacturing and distribution business based in Tyne and Wear. They have a number of impressive plans for future growth and expansion. Due to this growth looking to recruit a Warehouse Manager who is confident, ambitious and driven, on a permanent basis.

Job Specification

The Role

  • Orchestrate the activity of the warehouse team to ensure the day’s tasks are achieved on time.
  • Identify and resolve problems as they arise throughout the day.
  • Ensure staff are always aware of what they are expected to do and why.
  • Plan next day deliveries.
  • Apply and induction program on the basic skills of new recruits.
  • Plan staff holidays ensuring sufficient cover is available at the lowest possible cost.
  • Organise overtime as and when necessary.
  • Purchase packing materials and other consumables e.g. tools, gloves, saw blades, working to a pre-agreed budget.
  • Put in place best practice procedures for all processing equipment.
  • Follow and apply the established warehouse systems (e.g. loading, off-loading, labelling, picking, collections etc.)
  • Train warehouse personnel to follow established systems and procedures. Continually communicate these procedures to warehouse staff and regularly check they are being maintained.
  • Liaise with administration to ensure physical stock, locations etc. ties up exactly with computer stock records.
  • Ensure warehouse team work with profit centres ISO9002 procedures.
  • Carry out regular audits in regards to health and safety.
  • Regularly check vehicles operate within O License requirements.

The Person 

  • Must be able to think ahead successfully managing workloads.
  • Operates warehouse systems that off-load, store and distribute material in the most efficient and effective way.
  • Knowledge of health and safety and transport legislations.
  • Experience of working on transport/warehouse systems.
