Our client is a specialist Engineering Company at the forefront of their sector. Due to expansion they now require an experienced Quality Technician with CMM experience. On offer is an attractive salary, a permanent day shift role and the chance to work for a market leader.  

Job Specification

The Role

  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of quality control by interfacing with internal and external customers to ensure quality requirements are understood and achieved.
  • CMM inspection and programming.
  • Support the creation of Inspection Control Plans and the sample submission process.
  • Support the first off / last off process and inspection process to ensure all metrology and quality requirements are recorded and reviewed for compliance.
  • Conduct final measurement and inspection to ensure all components meet customer specification.
  • Undertake cause and effect analysis, identify corrective and preventative actions and report results.
  • Conduct quality audits and report the findings to improve the quality culture.
  • Support the development and implementation of improvements to the quality management system in accordance with industry best practice.
  • Provide training to improve quality, process and systems knowledge and safe working practices.
  • Conduct goods in inspection to ensure all products provided by external suppliers adhere to quality standards.
  • Liaise with the supply chain function relative to the use of raw materials and respond to issues found.  Raising non-conformances and producing 8D reports.
  • Support the development, implementation and improvement of appropriate quality management systems, quality procedures, operator methods and quality documentation.
  • Support the introduction of new products to the site.
  • Sign of measurement and inspection reports.
  • Reporting and closing non-conformances.

The Person

  • Diploma in Quality Assurance (or similar).
  • Educated to A level standard
  • Must have previous experience working in a Quality role (Senior Inspector / Technician grade or higher).
  • Working to ISO9001 and/or similar standards.
  • Able to read, understand and deploy the clauses contained within various quality standards.
  • Understanding of statistical process control
  • A thorough knowledge of measuring techniques (vernier, micrometer, DTI, CMM Machine).
  • Use of Quality tools.
  • Able to create procedures, work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • A thorough understanding of problem-solving methods such as 8D, Root-cause Analysis and the associated statistical tools used to analyse problems.
  • Auditing quality systems.
  • Working in a manufacturing / engineering environment.
