A leading North East Engineering Company are looking for an experienced Project Sourcing Manager to join their team in a permanent role. Job Specification

The Role

  • Due to growth in the product area, we require extended sourcing support for key product category growth area. 
  • This category is vital to the success of our long term ambitions and retaining status as market leader. 
  • This role shall be desk based in Durham enabling a close Sourcing link to the respective R&D teams.
  • This will require some commitments for travel, particularly to global supplier base and for key internal stakeholder alignment.
  • This role will be to complement our existing team, focusing on continuous improvements in cost, quality, flexibility and innovation within our supplier base.
  • Support and forge close interaction with R&D team, Supplier Base and Aycliffe factory.
  • Project Sourcing lead within New Product Development, driving supplier related activities to ensure projects are launched on time, with quality and within cost.
  • Key stakeholder in development of value engineering initiatives (OMV) for reasons of cost and quality improvements.
  • Attend collective forums (ie Pre-PI Arena, PI/CI Arena) for sourcing representation and driving activities.
  • RFQ submissions and DOA related to New Product Introductions.
  • Close strategic alignment within Global Sourcing, R&D, Factory Team and Suppliers.

The Person

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering (preferred), Supply Chain, Logistics.
  • Good knowledge of Project Management principles and tools together with relevant experience essential.
  • Background in contract negotiation, RFQ process, project management, risk management, supply market analysis, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
  • High volume manufacturing industry experience.
